Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Tonite Gonzalez-Collins is an American-Mexican sportscaster. Her current role is an ESPN sportscaster. ESPN who is also an anchor of SportsCenter as well as hosting SportsNation. She was hired by ESPN in the year 2016. She is the daughter of the reporter for television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual from age nine. Her ability was crucial in helping her land her first post as a an assistant to the production team at Univision Miami in which she assisted the production of programs including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. She was hired as a reporter for The CBS St. Petersburg affiliate in the following year. Her move into Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to work as a reporter on one of the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision, as well as Fox2 News. In 2009, she relocated into Rio Grande Valley, Texas, where she became an editor for KNVO48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. In addition, she was used occasionally as a weather and sports anchor. She then anchored and reported on Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was given more responsibilities. She wrote pieces on Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS and World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. She also produced Univision 23 Accion Deportiva Extra as anchor. She was advertised as anchoring sports for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. As a sports anchor she also worked for Primer Impacto (a network magazine) as well as Contacto Deportivo (a UniMas Network sports program). Antonietta Collin's parents were originally from Veracruz Mexico. At some point they moved into Mexico City where she was born on November 22 1985. She is more mature than her younger sister. Her family relocated into Miami in 1992, after having left Mexico. Her parents divorced soon after and, in 1995, she married a naval architect named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died in 2006 due to kidney cancer. It was during a summer vacation that she stayed with her sister living in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl was offered a job. Antonietta had just graduated high school, but was already aware of what she was going to do. It was an amazing campus. It also gave her the program she was interested in. After completing her studies, she was admitted to the university as a major of media studies. Mark Bergmann, her professor who was also the manager of the WRMU's 91.1FM station for which she worked over the years, became her friend. Her professor urged her to believe in herself and was deeply moved by his love of journalism.
